Alita Moore

Full-stack and infrastructure engineer, two-time founder · Chicago, IL

Engineer and founder who covers the whole distance from customer conversation to running system. I do customer discovery, decide what to build, and then build all of it myself: the product, the data and storage layers, distributed systems, ML training pipelines, and the Kubernetes and CI infrastructure underneath. Six years across a consumer app, Ethereum protocol tooling, a production OCR model, and two companies I founded, in TypeScript, Python, and Postgres. Comfortable leading engineers, owning production, and turning a vague direction into something people use.

Experience

  1. OuroGrid · Founder

Apr 2026 to present · Chicago, IL
    • Building UserAtlas, a memory layer that lets AI agents reason over a founder's customer research and act on it. Self-funded, and the sole engineer across the stack.
    • Designed and built the system that holds agents accountable. Every decision is recorded and can be reversed, agents are held to predefined instructions, and every output is explained and traced back to the real data it came from. All of it is managed in Postgres with no history bookkeeping in application code.
    • Designed and built a distributed agent memory that runs at the edge, replicated and kept next to the agent, so an agent can reason over far more than fits in a context window. Validated with deterministic simulation and fault injection.
    • Owned security and management of private customer data, with scoped access under a single authorization rule, encrypted storage and search, and instant, complete deletion on request.
  2. Wovenmind · Co-founder and lead engineer

Jan 2023 to Apr 2026 · Yokohama, Japan
    • Built an image-to-sequence OCR model for documents and mathematics, trained on millions of rendered pages across eight GPUs: owned the PyTorch model, the distributed training pipeline, and the data cleaning that made the ground truth usable.
    • Built the tooling under it: a filesystem-backed jobs framework for terabyte-scale, weeks-long jobs across hundreds of processes, and a training harness with exact mid-epoch resume and live learning-rate control.
    • Ran serving on Kubernetes with queue-driven autoscaling (RabbitMQ, KEDA, KServe), Flux GitOps deploys, sops secrets, and a metered API gateway; shipped the bilingual product site in Next.js; hired and managed a frontend contractor.
  3. Snackpass · Software engineer, later team lead

Jul 2020 to Jan 2023 · San Francisco, CA (remote)
    • Joined as an intern on the mobile apps; left leading a team of six, owning onboarding, planning, and the interface to product.
    • Raised the Android app's store rating from 3.2 to 4.7 in three months by cutting crashes 80% and shipping small releases often.
    • Wrote the RFC for and built the React Native point-of-sale app, with non-volatile event handling so an order could not be lost.
    • Led four engineers on the referral system still used as the company's primary referral record; built an inventory management system in a weekend that helped secure a major partner.
  4. Ethereum Cat Herders · Engineering contributor

    May 2020 to Jan 2022 · Remote
    • Wrote and maintained ethereum/EIP-Bot, the review, auto-merge, and stagnation bot governing the Ethereum Improvement Proposals repository; direct commit rights on ethereum/EIPs, over a hundred commits.
    • Contributed the EIP-1559 JSON-RPC diff to ethereum/execution-specs and the first multi-file OpenRPC proposal to ethereum/execution-apis; hired and managed a contractor cataloguing JSON-RPC edge cases.
